There is a fantastic book out call 'The Back Swan: The Impact of the Improbable' - a 'must read' for those who understand that the future is not necessarily predicted by the past. The fact that you have never had a heart attack in no shape or form means you will not have one!
As our Government continually tells us they are in control , they increasingly look as though they are not. Why? Because they are so frequently unlucky. Luck because they have no more idea of the future than any of us!
When I was 14 , I read on a box of matches 'The Man Who Knows Everything Knows Nothing'. That stuck with me. Perhaps Gordon and Alistair should have a think about this.
Leadership is about creating a future and understanding the present. Not looking to the past and say 'all will be well'.
